About this app

Episode Jataka (Jataka or stories of Buddha) is set in the 10th Sub ministry.
According to the Pali Jataka text, with 547 stories (Jataka I, page 596). But, in the English translation of 550 recorded conversation, divided into 22 chapters (Nipata). This classification is based largely on the shelf (gatha) in each story. For example, one chapter has 150 stories, each story with a verse form. Chapter two of 100 stories, each story has two verse form. Chapter three, four chapters, each chapter consists of 50 stories, each story with three and four verses. Until the twenty-first chapter has 5 stories, each story has 80 verses. Chapter twenty two with 10 stories, with some more shelves. Each Jataka (Jataka) consists of four parts:

1) PACCUPPANNA-vatthu: current story, a story is seen as occurred during the Buddha ', so called current story, and because of this story, the Buddha tells a story past.

2) ATITAVATTHU: past stories, relate to the characters in the current story. In the past story, there is always the presence of the Bodhisattva (the forerunner of the Buddha) in a certain role. Having one or more verses, sometimes by Bodhisattva say, when the Buddha said so, mostly in the form of a moral lesson.

3) VEYYAKARANA: Explain verse or a few nouns in the story of the past.

4) SAMODHANA: The combined Buddha combines two stories present and past, with the addition of a sermon, the result of his post and finally the identification Jataka, specify the relationship between the main characters in two stories past and present.

....

However, we must acknowledge that the Buddhist Jataka literature has a great effect, influencing the spread of Buddhism, in the past and in the present, in India and outside India, not those in the fields of literature, but also spread to areas of art, architecture, people's social life, etc ..

First, some Jataka stories engraved on the sculptures in the temples, stupas like Sanchi, in Amaravati, especially Bharhut, India. There, the Jataka name clearly engraved. Today, some of the sculptures that still remain relatively intact in the Indian Buddhist relics. The sculpture was to prove the story was known precursors lot in the third century before the era. Fa Hien, a Chinese pilgrim, visiting Sri Lanka in the fourth century after the era, had witnessed at the temple Abhayagiri, five hundred performances precursor story of Buddha, when he was a Bodhisattva, in the form of elephants, deer, etc .. We do while in Ceylon, Vesak Day Pandal has witnessed huge panels, on the Jataka stories for people to see and admire. And at the Pandal, there are the acting of plays Jataka stories anymore. So Vesak celebrations in Sri Lanka is the day that we come from a very populous Pandal Pandal after another, both ceremony and watch performances of the play on Jataka; people revel in the festive night. The stories were also used as a subject in the holiday sermon, to hear people all night, listening to the Ceylonese monk precursor Jataka story without knowing tired.

A further influence which this story brings, especially the stories about animals, sometimes crossing over Indian religion and become folk tales, half-mythical, half-real, not This dependence religion or country. We believe there is some fairytale Vietnam are derived from the Jataka stories such as the story Tam Cam. These fairy tales have become the common heritage of folk culture, reflects the normal characteristics of the population, in all horizons, in the daily life of the people, when exposed to what is good, or bad in life. Therefore, the Jataka collection are very popular, not only among Buddhists but also spread across all localities, all peoples.
