We all know how important it is to be active. The good news is you don’t have to go to the gym or start expensive fitness programmes, walking briskly counts too!

Just ten minutes of brisk walking every day can get your heart pumping and can make you feel more energetic, as well as lowering your risk of serious illnesses like heart disease and type 2 diabetes. Going for a brisk walk is a great way to clear your head and improve your mood.

Active 10's are simple to fit into your day, from taking the dog out to going for a lunchtime walk there are lot of opportunities to include brisk walking into your daily routine.

This app relies on your phone’s inbuilt sensors to measure your activity so you may experience varying levels of accuracy especially in older devices/operating systems. To improve accuracy, we recommend keeping your phone in a pocket close to your body rather than in a loose coat pocket or bag.

If you have any feedback on how we can improve the app please send it to BetterHealth

Same story with the Active 10 app. I turned it and my fitbit on. I walked for 17 minutes. Active 10 says I walked 5 and 4 were brisk. I've already gone to my settings and marked off to allow it past the battery saving mode; so that shouldn't be the problem. I've also had it be accurate a time or two, so again, that shouldn't be the problem. I would like to run an accurate version of this. Continuing-just got back from 11 minute walk. APP says 4 minutes, one brisk.. ;(

The "high achiever" reward badges don't work. I have completed the required active 10s for the first badge several times over with no award. Not a real problem, but it shows that the app isn't working as it should.

I performed a combination of fast walking and running for a total time of 40 minutes (1st day) and 30 minutes (2nd day) continuously on a treadmill (no stops). The count in the app was 0 minutes. Zero! I had gps turned on and had connected the app to google fit, but still nothing... Uninstalling NHS Active 10 Walking app
