Vignette is one of the primary reasons I returned to Android. I saw that it had received an update and was concerned that the "spirit" of the app had changed. I believe it has only improved! Vignette was always an app that had something of a learning curve to get the most from it because if offers a great deal. But,personally, I feel the time spent with it allows one to make images with great character & resonance. Wish list: more in house editing tools, such as curves, highlight/ shadow adjustments, etc.
Currently it messes up saving photos shared with the app from my phone's gallery (loses pretty much all metadata including file location). Can only edit existing photos by using import within the app itself. Please fix. Other than that, this long time user (since froyo!) took a bit to reorientate myself with the new app, but it's now (eventually after a few attempts) better to use with all the fine adjustments of the effects and frames to hand. The old cartoony interface always irked me so the app looks infinitely better.
This new update is horrible. Stop trying to do what other people are doing. I don't want to use this app anymore I find it difficult to use. the drop down menu was so much better. I am sure you worked really hard on it but just not user friendly. What I don't like is not being able to set the filter til after you take the photo
Long time (paid) user. I can see what you're doing with the new app guys, and it's sort of cool and new users will love it, but I'm afraid it's not for me. The option to shoot with the filter in place rather than add it afterwards was the main reason I used Vignette over all the other camera apps and instagram clones. Without that functionality and the ability to edit and tweek the filter before shooting, there's not much reason for me to use the app anymore over the phone's built-in camera app. Sorry... I wish you well. PS. Any opportunity to access the old vers/apk would be appreciated. ***In reply to your question below, filters can certainly affect how you choose to compose the shot. Seeing in advance how the filter changes the view can make a big difference to how you choose frame it. I liked that functionality. It's not there any more. Such is life, I'll move on. But saying you're at a loss to understand why I preferred a piece of functionality you had in your own app for 8 years... Come on, guys. I understand you're getting undeserved flack for what is still a great app, but i made a valid point.
IMO a must have for any android photography lover. Most often I leave the photos as taken by Vignette and rarely edit them in other apps. The filters are lovely and made me a square photo (this was the first camera app supporting this option on Android afaik) convert to such degree that I even square-ify photos taken with my P&S etc.. And yes, this was before instagram. The dev is also very responsive, I had an issue with the metering modes not working properly on my cheap phone and they have fixed it quite fast. All in all, 5 stars from me :-)
I paid for it and it doesn't work now. Pease fix or go back to an earlier version.
