About this app
Countdown Widget counts the days until — and since — the moments that matter: birthdays, weddings, Tết, exams, trips, anniversaries. Home-screen widgets show the right number every morning. Your events stay on your phone. No ads, no account.
UNLIMITED EVENTS
Add as many countdowns as you want. The app puts no cap on the number of events you can create.
VIETNAMESE LUNAR CALENDAR BUILT IN
✓ Create events on the lunar calendar — Tết (Lunar New Year), death anniversaries (ngày giỗ), lunar birthdays, Mid-Autumn Festival — and the app converts them to the correct solar date every year, automatically
✓ Astronomical algorithm (Ho Ngoc Duc), accurate from 1900 to 2100, fully offline
✓ Detail screen shows both calendars side by side, plus the can-chi (sexagenary) year name

WIDGETS THAT STAY UP TO DATE
The widgets use three independent layers so the number rolls over when the day does: a midnight alarm re-armed after every update, a periodic refresh run by Android itself as a safety net, and a live per-second countdown in the final 48 hours. The app also listens for reboot, date change, time set and timezone change. The midnight alarm is a battery-friendly one, so on a phone in deep sleep the flip can land a few minutes after 00:00 rather than on the dot — we would rather be a few minutes late than drain your battery or ask for a restricted alarm permission.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your event names, notes and dates never leave your phone — they are stored only in the app's private database. The app has no account and no ads, and the advertising ID permission is stripped from the build. It does send anonymous usage counts and crash reports (Firebase) so we can fix bugs; that never includes the text you type, and you can switch it off in Settings → Privacy. Notification permission is used solely to remind you of your own events.
