About this app

Interval Timer is a HIIT, Tabata and boxing round timer that KEEPS RUNNING when the screen goes off: a foreground service, a wakelock and drift-free timing mean your workout never silently dies in your pocket. No account, the timer itself needs no signal, and ads never appear on the running timer.

FREE

✓ Quick timer — set work / rest / rounds, see the total, hit start
✓ Custom sequences — named intervals with their own duration and color; save up to 5 workouts free
✓ 20 templates — HIIT, Tabata, EMOM, AMRAP, running, boxing and MMA rounds, core and stretching
✓ Sets with rest between sets, plus warm-up and cool-down blocks
✓ Tempo per rep (3-1-1): the voice says Down, Hold, Up and counts reps
✓ Rest advisor: rate a set 6-10 and the rest adapts
✓ Breathing warm-up, and Flowtime: focus counts up, tap Break when done
✓ Run/walk programs (couch to 5K and more), week 1 free
✓ Fullscreen timer — huge digits, a color per phase, progress ring, next-interval preview
✓ Voice coach — announces each exercise by name, with an optional spoken 3-2-1
✓ Loud signals you hear over music — boxing bell, gong, air horn, whistle or wood block
✓ Music ducking — beeps briefly lower your music instead of pausing it
✓ Survives screen-off and Doze — foreground service + wakelock, drift-free timing
✓ Resumes where you were if the phone closes the app mid-workout
✓ Screen-off reliability check — a 30-second test, then recommended battery settings for your phone brand
✓ Notification, lock-screen, headset and smartwatch controls
✓ Adjust on the fly — −10 s / +10 s on the current interval, or add a round
✓ Skip an interval, or lock the screen against sweaty taps
✓ AMRAP, For Time and EMOM — count rounds, log your time, or tap Done each minute
✓ Last 7 days card and a weekly goal (minutes or sessions) on the home screen, with your streak
✓ Stop asks first after 30 s, so a stray tap can't lose a session
✓ 3, 5 or 10 countdown beeps, and an optional prompt every 15/30/60 s in long rounds
✓ Auto-pause when a call comes in
✓ Vibration, keep-screen-on and a battery-optimization helper
✓ Share a workout as a QR code, short code or text
✓ Quick Settings tile and launcher shortcuts to start a saved workout
✓ 12 languages, with per-app language on Android 13+

FREE WITH ADS, PRO WITHOUT

The free version shows a banner at the bottom of the home screen and, at most every few minutes, a full-screen ad after you close the summary of a finished workout. Never while a workout runs, never on the timer screen, never when you stop early. Ads come from Google AdMob and Unity Ads, which may use your advertising ID; where required you are asked for consent first (Settings › Pro & ads).

Interval Timer Pro is a Google Play subscription (monthly, 3 months, or yearly with a 3-day free trial). It removes all ads and unlocks:

★ Unlimited saved workouts
★ Per-interval sounds — any of 9 sounds or a custom spoken phrase for each interval
★ Workout chains — run several saved workouts back to back with rest in between
★ Scale all times — copy any workout at 50% to 200% length, original untouched
★ Export / import workouts as JSON files — share routines or move phones
★ 2×1 home-screen widget with quick-start buttons
★ Workout history — every finished session logged, with total time and a day streak
★ Reaction training — random cues inside your work intervals, like an unpredictable sparring round
★ Halfway voice cue and rounds-remaining announcements
★ Run/walk programs past week 1

Not ready to subscribe? Watch a short video for 30 minutes of Pro features (ads stay on; the widget needs Pro). Had the app before ads arrived? You keep Pro free on this install.

PRIVACY
Workout names, interval names and anything you type never leave the phone. The timer works offline; ads, Pro and anonymous usage stats use the internet. Usage stats and crash reports can be switched off in Settings. The camera is used only to scan a workout QR code.
HIIT workout timer that survives screen-off. TTS coach and music ducking.

What’s new

New in 1.13:
• Pro chains can now include AMRAP and For Time workouts: tap Done to log a part, count rounds, and see each part's result at the end.
• Share a chain as text or as QR codes (long chains span several codes) and import it in one tap.
• Add to calendar: pick days and a time, and your calendar app creates a weekly event. No calendar permission needed.
