About this app

Following SSTV modes are supported:

Robot Modes: 36 & 72
PD Modes: 50, 90, 120, 160, 180, 240 & 290
Martin Modes: 1 & 2
Scottie Modes: 1, 2 & DX
Wraase Mode: SC2-180

Old B/W or unsupported modes can be viewed in "Raw" mode.

On detection of the calibration header of a supported mode, the resulting image will be automatically saved to the "Pictures" directory and can be seen in the Image gallery.

With version 2, running the decoder in the background will not be supported anymore.

Hey Ahmet, this app works really well at decoding, and that's without using a HAM radio and just playing back SSTV audio from YouTube. One note, and this doesn't affect the rating: it seems like Scottie DX peaks out the microphone and causes the app to switch to RAW for second intervals, which causes cyan-line artifacting that prevents images in that format from saving. Not your fault though, just a side effect of my mic being just OK. Everything else works great though!

Can you please send me an audio recording using the same setup? A screenshot would also help see the problem. Most of the time, the microphone really is just over-driven and then you simply need to lower the volume and put the devices closer to each other. That helps reducing echo, distortion and improves signal to noise ratio.

Works very well and produces clear images from the I.S.S. on my Lenovo P2 running stock Android 6.1. Thanks Dev(s). Edit: On a digital display radio or VHF/UHF channelised squark box you can guess and dial in the frequency by assuming the frequency, but absent such a display it gets to be hit and miss trying to zone in on the required audio frequencies. Could be lack of understanding on my part but I get a kick out of deciding images from an old Mizuho hand held crystal controlled transceiver!

Nice SSTV receiver app. I've been using it for a long time now. But at least for me the v. 2 is a regression. PD290 is finally back, but from my tests always fails to properly synchronize and cuts off large portion from right of the image. The spectrum analyzer also looks worse than v. 1 and as the description says, the app is no longer made for running in background. Improvement is only in audio settings control, but since I don't use those I returned to version 1.48 from F-Droid archive.

V2 is a rewrite in Java, so some sacrifices had to be made. While PD290 is decoded and stored whole, only the first 640 pixels of 800 are shown in the scope view to keep things simple. Please send us audio recordings where it fails. The analyzer was replaced by a simpler frequency plot, showing the demodulated signal which is fed to the decoders.
