Chatting with YouTuber Tech Me 0ut

Tech Me 0ut runs a YouTube channel featuring her reviews and tutorials on all things tech. We talked with her about her journey as a creator and advice for aspiring YouTubers.

Tech Me 0ut: I was researching how to modify the software on my phone. As I was learning, I wanted to break down that information and educate others. That evolved into me talking about the whole landscape of tech and sharing it with the world.

I'm seeing a lot of AI integration into different apps, and I'm really looking forward to seeing where that evolves. [AI] makes some tasks easier and much more convenient! It amazes me at what it can do – and concerns me at times – to a point where I also would like to see necessary restrictions put in place to help keep things a bit managed and safe.

It would be great to see an app geared toward content creators – a one-stop solution for content creation, planning, and organization.

One year I was offered a campaign centered around what it means to celebrate the holidays with family. With the provided budget, I got the chance to fulfill a dream I had and take my family to Disney World. We always wanted to go so it made the moment even more special. Everyone had an amazing time! I was actually able to turn a dream into reality, and enjoy some of the success that I've had in the YouTube space with my family.

To stay relentless. Especially in the beginning, not all of the content I made performed the way that I wanted. But you have to stay persistent, consistent, and relentless with it. Just keep putting yourself and your content out there, be your authentic self, and do what you love or what brings you joy.

Embrace your uniqueness. Don't try to conform to what's out there. Be proud of who you are and what you do, and somebody out there will find it and enjoy it.

Advocacy looks different across the board. For me, it comes in the form of making myself visible and creating a safe space for my audience who may identify as LGBTQ+. I believe my platform allows me to, in the words of Marianne Williamson, “shine my light and unconsciously give permission for others to do the same.”
