About this audiobook

The author of Alice takes readers through a dark tale of Peter Pan, who turns his best friend into his nemesis, Captain Hook. On an island lives a boy called Peter and his band of merry lost boys, young forever. That is, unless they get sick or killed by pirates or eaten by crocodiles or unless-inexplicably-they grow old. For some of them do grow old, and nobody knows why. One of these boys is called Jamie, and he was the first boy that Peter ever brought to the island. Jamie's lived there for longer than he can remember, and it's not all fun and games. Peter thinks the boys are replaceable, that if one dies or grows up, he can swap in another from the Other Place, the place where he collects new playmates. Jamie looks out for the boys and takes care of them. He does everything Peter does not. Jamie tries to keep them alive because, to him, they matter. When Peter steals a boy who is too young, Jamie takes the boy under his wing. But Peter won't have that, for nobody will ever take Jamie from him. Ever.

Now I have read this book and listened to the audiobook and I found both to be immensely enjoyable to where I'd normally give it 4-5 stars. However, until something is changed, I strongly advise AGAINST purchasing this audiobook from Google. Why? Well, you'd soon understand that upon less than half a minute after having listened to the sample audio that it is NOT playing a recording of Samuel Roukin narrating Christina Henry's book. Instead, you're treated to a different book entirely that merely shares a similar title to Henry's book. I initially thought it might have been a sample error but no. The full purchase is literally a whole other book by a different author entirely. All because some idiot(s) screwed up and/or just didn't have the competence to actually double check the audio files. If any of you have bought this through Google then you've been ripped off and I would strongly urge you to immediately get a refund. As for Christina Henry's book and the audio adaption, I definitely recommend checking out either one of those mediums if not both because they are a good read and a good listen. However, until Google fixes the issue with the audiobook version, I urge anyone to take their money elsewhere to a vendor that HAS THE CORRECT AUDIOBOOK. Furthermore, I'll rescind this review once this issue has been corrected.

They fixed the previous problem. The audiobook is the correct one. This is an awesome book. I enjoyed reading it so much that I searched for the audiobook almost as soon as I finished reading it.
