Kim is coauthor, with Renee Mauborgne, of the bestselling books Blue Ocean Strategy and Blue Ocean Shift.

Renee Mauborgne is the INSEAD Distinguished Fellow and a professor of strategy at INSEAD, one of the world's top business schools. She is also codirector of the INSEAD Blue Ocean Strategy Institute. She cofounded the Blue Ocean Global Network with W. Chan Kim.
