About this audiobook

Season's Kisses . . .
Wild child Chloe Thompson can't believe how much things have changed. She still can't get enough of her sexy husband Sawyer, but he seems to prefer working to impending fatherhood. So tonight, a very pregnant Chloe is escaping her troubles at the town Christmas party.

Sheriff Sawyer Thompson hopes surprising Chloe at the party will give him a chance to set things right. But as the snow begins to fall and the wind rages, he wonders whether he can make it back in time. While mother nature conspires to keep Sawyer and Chloe apart, an unexpected arrival will require them to kiss and make up . . . and ring in the happiest holiday Lucky Harbor has ever seen.

AudioBook Review: Stars: 4 Narration 4 Story 4 Chloe is full-on in Christmas mode: everything is coming to be the best one yet, particularly since she’s pregnant and soon to deliver their first child. Sawyer, however, is worried about finances and Chloe’s health, wanting her to take it easy and rest, despite her not being particularly cooperative: add pregnant brain and mood swings to that combination and you’ve got one big old headache for Sawyer, one that he wouldn’t trade for the world. But an opportunity to earn some extra cash, money that can be used for the baby, with a case that intrigues him and won’t mean that he’d be gone for long mean that Sawyer and Chloe are not in the best place just before he leaves. Not wanting him to go, and certainly not listening to Sawyer’s (and other people’s) demands that she skip the town Christmas party and just rest – she’s carrying all of that emotion, and not a little bit of worry about Sawyer’s safety into the upcoming few days. Of course, nothing really goes to plan (well – Sawyer’s plan anyway) as Chloe and the rest of the town show up for the party, a snowstorm deciding to make it a white Christmas, with Sawyer struggling to get home, and a baby who has decided that her time is NOW – and the story is full of the things we’ve come to love in this series. Friendship, community, a ‘take every risk to make it home’ hero and enough snark and laughs, some inappropriate, to keep the story from being too saccharine-sweet and cloying. A wonderful way to bring closure to the series and the town, with the celebration of a new, sure to be the center of attention little girl. Narration for this story is provided by Angela Starling, my first chance to hear her narrate, and while the voices for everyone were different from what I had come to know, her work in this short story (under 2 hours) was clean and clear. Her performance of Chloe was solid and felt natural, and the other secondary characters, including her friends and other townspeople, all presented the sense that everyone is looking out for one another, even when things aren’t going as well as one might hope. I received an AudioBook copy of the title from Hachette Audio for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.
