About this audiobook

I was only looking for a roommate...

I’m the town widow.

Not the only one, but the youngest by far.

My husband died one year after our wedding, casting me as the charity case in my small Alaskan town.

Since then, everyone—including my big family—try to keep me busy as if that will stop the haunting memories from resurfacing.

Do I know it’s time to move on? Of course, but that’s easier said than done.

Then Van Adler rides into town. His bad boy vibe complete with his motorcycle and tattoos causes my body to fill with need for the first time since my husband’s death.

To make matters worse, he’s the one who answered my ad for a roommate. Sharing the close quarters of our two-bedroom apartment means I have to set some ground rules like keeping his rippled abs covered. Soon we become friends, he’s making me dinners, and we’re binge-watching television shows all night.

The more our lives intertwine, the more I start to fall for him. Leaving me wondering, can you find the love of your life twice in one lifetime?

I had high expectations for this book, it didn't disappoint. Bryn and Van, two broken people who are perfect for each other. I like how Van helped Bryn realize what she really wanted. I like the Alaska small town feel of the book, I also like that everyone knows everyone. I also like that every chapter doesn't have a steamy part. The narrators did an awesome job bringing these characters to life. If you've read a Piper Rayne book then you know this book is gonna be great, if you haven't then you

Full of charming dialogue, white-hot chemistry, small town charm with meddling relatives, and a second chance love, this tale was an uplifting story of love and healing. Brinley and Van were perfect for each other and they broke my heart a bit and pieced it back together again. Connor Crais and Melissa Moran voiced the audio and their duet narration was fantastic.

Okay, does anyone else really want to move to Lake Starlight, or is it just me? I absolutely love Piper Rayne's characters. This duo has a talent for creating characters that practically leap off the page. They're that real. And they've done it again with Van and Brinley, which brings me back to moving to this small town. I could relate to Brinley on so many things, including her reluctance to move on. It made my heart happy to see her spending time with Van and even considering something more.
