Just like "A Stitch In Time" made me appreciate DS9 more, this makes me appreciate VOY more. The people lost in the pilot feels important now. The show failed to do that and I'm really glad this book did. A great addition to beta canon and one more reason to love Kathryn Janeway. :)

I came across this book and was reading all the negative comments about it. I have enjoyed the Voyager show just as much as I did TNG; So, I took a leap and decided to get the Autobiography of Kathryn Janeway. I had to go for the audio book so I could listen to her voice describing her memories and history. What a great choice I made, the book was so good that it made me laugh and also cry. The book starts off with Janeway’s early years and numerous stories even before Starfleet Academy. It really added depth to her character to fully understand and appreciate her later on. I knew the book was going to touch on their encounters in the Delta Quadrant and honestly wasn’t looking forward to that part of the story. I was in the mind set that I know everything already. What could Captain Janeway explain that I couldn’t do myself? Nope, I was wrong there. She had a way of detailing different episodes with a technique that made the references seem fresh and new. I really recommend Una McCormack on her way of telling a story. The last 2 chapters describe her life and some members of the Voyager crew once they got home from the Delta Quadrant. Some of these were joyful to hear, learning that they went off to do brilliant things; and some of them made me cry. I genuinely wished I could learn more about them. I can’t recommend this book enough. I was a huge Star Trek enthusiast since I was a young kid and after 30 years or so, I still get nostalgic when I watch this franchise. Please check out this book and would love to hear feedback of what you all thought of it as well. “One of the best $10.00 books I ever bought.”

This book is amazing!! If you are a Star Trek Voyager fan this is a must read/listen. What makes the audio book even better is the fact that Kate Mulgrew is the narrator. Do yourself a favor and buy the book.
