If he didn't kill, the cowl would do the opposite, it would reverse his curse, leaving him in werewolf form during the waxing and waning moon. Unwilling to kill again, Cain thought he destroyed the cowl. Until another werewolf appears in New Orleans, always transformed and wearing the cowl, leaving a trail of bodies in its path. When the full moon rises and their roles are reversed, Cain recognizes the cowl-wearing wolf. He's never been so frightened.

Ratings and reviews

Readers see more of Cain and Rutherford together as their relationship develops. It made me laugh that Cain is resistant to the concept of laundry baskets. I love how Abel, who is new to the modern world, has a better grasp of technology than Cain, who has been around for six thousand years. These stories bring people from Cain's past into his present. Awkward when a past wife shows up. Plenty of action and fun world building.

Loved it! I really enjoy this world the author has created. In this particular collection, I found myself laughing out loud quite a few times. All too soon, the stories were over and I was left craving the next. Hopefully, they'll be available on audio soon.
