The #1 Bestseller!

TURNED is book #1 in the #1 Bestselling series THE VAMPIRE JOURNALS, which includes twelve books.

In TURNED (Book #1 of the Vampire Journals), 18 year old Caitlin Paine finds herself uprooted from her nice suburb and forced to attend a dangerous New York City high school when her Mom moves again. The one ray of light in her new surroundings is Jonah, a new classmate who takes an instant liking to her.

But before their romance can blossom, Caitlin suddenly finds herself changing. She is overcome by a superhuman strength, a sensitivity to light, a desire to feed--by feelings she does not understand. She seeks answers to what’s happening to her, and her cravings lead her to the wrong place at the wrong time. Her eyes are opened to a hidden world, right beneath her feet, thriving underground in New York City. She finds herself caught between two dangerous covens, right in the middle of a vampire war.

It is at this moment that Caitlin meets Caleb, a mysterious and powerful vampire who rescues her from the dark forces. He needs her to help lead him to the legendary lost artifact. And she needs him for answers, and for protection. Together, they will need to answer one crucial question: who was her real father?

But Caitlin finds herself caught between two men as something else arises between them: a forbidden love. A love between the races that will risk both of their lives, and will force them to decide whether to risk it all for each other…

"TURNED is an ideal story for young readers. Morgan Rice did a good job spinning an interesting twist on what could have been a typical vampire tale. Refreshing and unique, TURNED has the classic elements found in many Young Adult paranormal stories. Book #1 of the Vampire Journals Series focuses around one girl…one extraordinary girl!...TURNED is easy to read but extremely fast-paced....Recommended for anyone who likes to read soft paranormal romances. Rated PG."

“TURNED grabbed my attention from the beginning and did not let go….This story is an amazing adventure that is fast paced and action packed from the very beginning. There is not a dull moment to be found. Morgan Rice did an awesome job bringing the reader into the story. She also made it easy to root for Caitlin and want desperately to her succeed in finding her truth….I will be looking forward to the second book in the series.”

At first, I figured it wasn't awful. It becomes more repetitive and redundant. In a lot of places it feels like the author was just trying to make her word count. Glad it was free, because I would actually be mad pay for this book. -Spoilers- I get the family in love super fast for basically no apparent reason. THIS relationship is dreadful. Really? Over like 2-3 hours your madly in love with him? He saved you because he felt something for you too? He saw you across the room for a whole 5 minutes! Who names a 3000 year old vampire Kyle? Or anyone that old KYLE of all things. That and Caleb. I almost didn't finish it. I'm just committed to finishing what I start.

This is the first audiobook I have ever owned/listened to, and I have already purchased and listed to the first 3 of the series. I enjoy the story, and although I myself am not a teenager, I don't feel immature reading a book that is most likely written for that genre. I like the characters, Caitlin and Sam are well written. Caitlin does lack confidence that's for sure, but maybe that's how teenage girls are lol. The book keeps you engaged and interested and ready for the next page!

OH MY WORD where do i start. The book is isnt that great. It first says Sam was 14 now he's all of sudden 15 and Kyle he was 3000 years old now he's 4000. Jonah and Kaitlyn dont have one single normal conversation so that we as the audience find out more about them. The fact that Caleb and Kaitlyn fall in love and confess their love within the first second of meeting each other is utterly ridiculous. When Kaitlyn got mad at him bc he said he only saved he because he thought she was the Messiah and she wanted to cry and become jealous bc she loved him in the first realistically 10-15 minuets of knowing each other “...I love you” direct quote by Caleb himself when he had known her for those 10-15 minuets. Other twists of this book is awful. When Jonah was being integrated Kaitlyn called him then it becomes her POV and its like the call never happened. This book would've been nice if all the parts weren't cut down , repetitive, absolutely dumb and rediculouse. The narrator was not that great It just made the story altogether bad im not going to buy book two. To the author dont put a shortcut to everything. Writing a book takes time think it through bc this would b the end result something that doesnt make sense. The author is not a bad writer its just the was theres a shortcut to everything and killing off characters was very bad. Sam was there for one scene then left and the only purpose of Sam as a character was only relavent was in the scene when she last saw her mom alive and when she was planning to walk 150 blocks to escape to that town. I think creating Sams character wasnt smart and neither was killing him off. She has a phone she couldve texted him or called him to apologize for the way she spoke to him the last time they spoke and ask him how he is. but ofc shed rather call Jonah in the middle of an interagation then let it not be spoken of or addressed. I hve to much to say but ive already gpn past my 1000 word limit but u understand the purpose pf this review.
