This relatively quick read started with a great hook and effortlessly captured and held my interest. I found the story confusing at times, but I loved the characters, and the unpredictable plot kept surprising me. It's a neat redemption story with a heartwarming ending. The mythology is intriguing, and there’s a satisfying element of found family, with some great secondary characters from some of Easterling’s other series. I enjoyed Alyse Gibbs’s narration, although her pacing is a bit odd.
