**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title courtesy of the publisher** Justified is absolutely everything I love about Jay Crownover! Strong characters, some intrigue, some mystery, and a whole lot of sexiness make for a book I just did not want to put down! Case Lawton and Aspen Barlow have known one another since high school. Case was one of the only people who was kind to the new girl in Loveless who happened to march to the beat of her own drum. As any girl would, she developed a crush on the handsome son of the town sheriff. While Aspen fought her own battles with not fitting in, Case was dealing with the fact that his father was as crooked as they come and while he was the sheriff, he wasn't always looking out for the best interest of the townspeople. He wanted out of Loveless as badly as anything, but fate had other plans for him. Years later, Aspen moves back to Loveless, marries and goes to work at her new family's law firm. She happens to run into Case the day he is served with divorce papers and when he has the opportunity to hire her to represent him, instead he insults her. When she is hired by his soon-to-be ex-wife, Aspen become enemy number one because part of what his ex wants is for him to be kept away from their son. It's no secret that Case and Aspen don't get along, so when Aspen is suddenly the victim and needs Case's help since he is now the sheriff, things get interesting. It's clear that Aspen's life is in danger, but the question is who is out to get her? I absolutely loved everything about this book. It grabbed my attention as soon as I started reading and I needed to find out who was behind all that was happening to Aspen. Not to mention the tension, both emotional and physical, that she managed to build between Case and Aspen, it was fantastic. Jay always creates complex characters and these were no exception. If you are a long time reader of her books, some of the characters might seem a little bit familiar as she has managed to give a nod some of her other most well-known series. I am already ready for the next book in the series as I know it's going to be another great trip to Loveless, Texas!
