يحدثنا المؤلف في كتابه هذا عن زيارته لبعض الأقليات الإسلامية ومن ثم حديثه عن الأماكن المقدسة الإسلامية والمسيحية واليهودية، فأبدع في وصف زيارته لباريس بحكم عشقه لها، ومن ثم ذهابه إلى لندن وفنلندا والدنمارك، وانتهى بحديثه عن إسبانيا، كما أنه أبدع في وصفه للقصور والحدائق والآثار الدينية خصوصا الإسلامية، والجميل بأن الكاتب تفنن في سرد رحلاته بغاية الروعة والبساطة، وعليه فقد اشتمل الكتاب على ثلاثة أبواب دارات حول: (رحلات بين الأدب والسياسة، رحلات إلى الأماكن المقدسة في الشرق الأوسط، ووداعا أوروبا).
