臺北水源特定區供應大臺北地區約500萬人口之民生用水，目前此區供應給長興、公館及直潭淨水場處理後之清水均符合自來水水質標準，且進入淨水場取水口之原水易多能符合飲用水水源水質標準，因此本計畫區供應之民生用水應無影響民眾健康之風險疑慮。然而，水源保護區為安全飲用水多重保護屏障的最上游，屬於地面水體，應符合甲類地面水體水質標準，由歷年監測資料顯示，大腸桿菌群、總磷及氨氮等項目常發生不符合或接近甲類標準之情形，故本計畫所提風險管理係針對水源保護區之潛在污染源及其可能危害風險進行評估，評估結果可供研擬水源保護區管理計畫制訂之參考。
