《微分方程数值计算的新方法》一书作者提出偏差分方法是建立在偏差分基础之上的，且在推导过程中需要用到Taylor 公式。本书同时介绍了新方法，计算涉及插值，包括偏差分方法和一类新的线性多步法。根据三阶导数的表达方式的不同，可以构建不同类型的偏差分方法。偏差分方法以及新型多步方法的公式很多，这样就可以构建数量繁多的加权平均公式。用显式公式预估，再用隐式公式校正，称为预估校正公式。第一种线性多步法中，如果只考虑到一阶导数，相关的方法就是显式和隐式Euler方法。对于包含二阶导数的新多步法，先给出二阶导数的一些表达式。
