《王旭高醫家六種》所輯內容豐富，言簡意賅，通俗易懂，便於背誦。其中，《退思集類方歌注》一書分24類，每類分方、歌、注三部分，共載方歌259首，其中仲景方148首，後世方111首。《醫方治匯編歌訣》對150個常用方劑，以同類方劑類編的方法，把藥物組成，主治候，加減變化等內容編成歌訣形式，在每方歌訣中加有注釋，詳細說明方劑出處，演變、劑型、藥量等，並有作者評論。《醫方歌括》、《增訂醫方歌訣》，前者不分類，共載171方，是本徐靈胎《蘭台軌范》通治方而作﹔後者分補益、發汗、攻下、和解4類，共26方。《薛氏濕熱論歌訣》即作者把薛雪的《濕熱論》改編成歌訣之作。《西溪書屋夜話錄》集中輯錄了王氏對肝病治的系統論述，對臨施治有一定參考價值。
