「儒家倫常」（Confucian Ethos）意指儒家的倫理常道，包括理論、規範，亦包括它在世間各領域之實踐與施作之義及其現象。本書旨在關注儒家倫常在「跨文化視域」（intercultural perspective）下的新典範之詮釋和理解，探討在跨文化的交流、互動、會通、對話之下，儒家能否自傳統中轉化、創造，以因應既全球化又重視在地的新時代，同時更作出它的人文貢獻。
臺師大漢學研究團隊精選2012年於國家圖書館舉辦之「跨文化視域下的儒家倫常」國際學術研討會的17篇論文，時間從上古經中世、近世而到當代；地域橫跨了中國、日、韓與越南；學術兼及儒、釋、道以及西哲。既合乎跨文化視域之要旨，亦跨越時空架構以及思想大教來會通儒家倫常之道與學。儒家的創新性和當代性的返本開新，希因此專書出版而得以振興發揚。
