공대 기계과에서 골프 치는 것이 무슨 대단한 학문이라고 가르치고 있나. 골프야 말로 사치의 대명사이다. 열심히 공부하는 가난한 대학생들에게 괜한 위화감만 조성한다. 논문이나 열심히 써라. 정부에서도 공무원 골프 금지령도 내린 적도 있지 않나. 국록을 받는 기계공학자가 할 짓 거리는 아니지.

About the author
KAIST 기계공학과 교수이다. 진동, 신호처리, 제어 분야 연구 및 교육에 매진하고 있는데, 주 연구 분야는 회전체 동역학및 진동제어이다. 2007년 제7회 한국공학상(기계, 재료 분야)을 수상했고, 한국과학기술한림원 및 한국공학한림원 정회원이며, 미국기계학회 펠로우이다. 저서로는 『Vibration Analysis of Rotors』(Kluwer Academic Publishers, 1993)가 있다.
