예리한 시선으로 순간의 시학을 포착하는 능력을 인정받으며 2007년 『문학동네』 신인상으로 등단한 주원익이 첫번째 시집을 펴낸다. 총 3부로 구성된 이번 시집은 언어 너머의 언어를 향해 가며 되돌아오지도 사라지지도 않는 사이의 시간을 구축한다. 이 시간에서 시인의 언어는 "당신"에게 말해졌다고 생각되는 순간 타버리듯 허물어지고, 사라져 들리지 않는다고 생각하는 순간 다시 온전함의 불가능을 말한다.
주원익의 시에 목소리가 있다면 그것은 침묵으로 가라앉지도, 온전한 말로 떠오르지도 않는 "침묵의 목소리"일 것이다. 58편의 시들은 스스로 미완성이 되기를 자처하며 완전함이 언어의 자질이 아니라는 것을 보여주고, 즉각적이고 자체적으로 열리는 무한의 공간으로 나아간다. 그리하여 시인은 단지 "있음"이라 단정지어 말하지 않고 움직임의 방향을 나타내는 조사 "으로"를 붙여 말한다. 시는 "있음으로"라고.

1980년 서울에서 태어났다. 서울예술대학교 문예창작과를 졸업했다. 2007년 『문학동네』로 등단했다.
