1978년 강원도 정선 출생. 초등학교 때부터 무협소설을 접하였고 고교 졸업과 동시에 만화계 입문. 만화 스토리 작가로 데뷔하여 활동하던 중 국가의 부름을 받고 군에 입대. 그리고 전역. 어린 시절부터 정신없던 군 복무 때까지 틈틈이 끄적이던 글들을 정리하여 그중 첫 번째 작품인 [초일] 을 완성. 작가 백준은 흔히 ‘로맨스 무협 작가’라고 불린다. 혹자는 ‘무협소설을 드라마틱하게 쓰는 작가’라고도 평한다. 그러나 이는 작가 백준을 말하기에는 부족한 표현이다. 그는 주인공의 삶에 희로애락을 녹여내는 작가이며, 그 방식에 개성을 확립한 작가라고 말하는 게 옳을 것이다.
