About this eBook

The writing team that delivered the bestselling Faithful, about the 2004 Red Sox championship season, takes readers to the ballpark again, and to a world beyond in this baseball tale with a twist from master storyteller Stephen King.

Dean Evers, an elderly widower, sits in front of the television with nothing better to do than waste his leftover evenings watching baseball. It’s Rays/Mariners, and David Price is breezing through the line-up. Suddenly, in a seat a few rows up beyond the batter, Evers sees the face of someone from decades past, someone who shouldn’t be at the ballgame, shouldn’t be on the planet. And so begins a parade of people from Evers’s past, all of them occupying that seat behind home plate. Until one day Dean Evers sees someone even eerier….

It was a good, quick read with the story moving along at a good pace. King has always spent too much time moving his stories forward, in my opinion, and seems to have consciously adjusted that here. The oayoff was a bit disappointing to me, however. It was not a bad tale, but one that seemed incomplete. Worth the $2 and the hour it took to read, but don't set your expectations too high or you will be quite let down.

I purchased this because I have always liked Stven King books. I tried the free sample and it consisted of nothing. Big cover pic, a place to sign up for notifications which I opted out of, a table of contents (2 entries) a blank page and the last page which informed me that was the end of the free sample. Not a review of the book, a review on the sample. After email addys perhaps .

Classic King. I couldn't tell there was another author except for some of the descriptions seemed different. Good, fast...more than a little predictable. I love King though.
