A. K. CHAKRABARTI, Ph.D., has been Professor of Metallurgical & Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur. He taught and conducted research at IIT Kharagpur for nearly thirty years. Dr. Chakrabarti is presently the Chairman of the Editorial Board of the Indian Foundry Journal published by The Institute of Indian Foundrymen and also the Managing Editor of IIM Metal News—a publication of the Indian Institute of Metals, Kolkata.
