Dennis Thompson is a senior engineering professional in financial markets technology. He worked at multiple financial firms including a hedge fund, an exchange, an investment bank, a prop trading firm, and a trading platform provider.


He built super low latency trading systems and related software for more than a decade at multiple financial firms across multiple asset classes. He has first-hand experience developing trading systems software components like market data feed handlers, order management system, matching engine, smart order router, algo/strategy engine, trading signals computation, risk management system, etc. and with low latency technologies like FPGA, kernel bypass, OS/Network tuning, etc.


Dennis also developed quantitative software - models, signals, algorithms, analytics, etc. collaborating with quants and traders.


Dennis holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from University of Illinois.
