About this eBook

American health is at a crossroads with millions of people needing healthcare yet the system cannot keep up with the demand. We need healthcare but somehow it all seems complicated and not simple to attain. Nurse practitioners and physician assistants, working collaboratively shoulder to shoulder with physicians and other healthcare professionals can help resolve this mounting crisis. The book ends with a passionate plea to increase the use of the primary care workforce to prevent chronic care diseases and promote healthy living. Americans deserve the very best that healthcare has to offer.

About the author

I feel strongly about all of the nurse practitioners around the world and in the United States of America. They have all done a exemplary job of keeping up their clinical practices. In these eight case studies, I write about how all of them have captured their clinical practices really worked within their world and accomplished great things. Within their own sphere, they have truly made tremendous progress against terrific odds and I tip my hat to each and every one. It is because of these APNs that access to primary care is important. APNs are a crucial component to achieving these aims. I want Detroit to be strong and vibrant and full of promise. I grew up in Detroit and then moved to Dearborn where I went to Dearborn High School. I moved to Ann Arbor in 1972 and attended the University of Michigan, where I eventually got my Ph.D. I got married and eventually divorced from my husband, George Lentz. We moved to Birmingham, then Troy. I have two lovely children, Teren and Caryn Lentz and my mother, Phyllis Solberg and my long term partner, Boyd Chapin Jr., who have staid by my side throughout the way. I can only say how grateful I am that throughout this long ordeal they have remained by me and for me.
