About this eBook

"Nobody thrills like Nicholson does. Nobody." - J.A. Konrath, The ListA massive solar storm kills billions and wipes out the technological infrastructure, and the few survivors learn that some among them have...changed.

AFTER: THE ECHO
(Book #2 in the After series)

It's six weeks after the shock.

The smoke on the horizon has diminished, and Rachel Wheeler and her two traveling companions head toward the mountains where Rachel's grandfather Franklin has built a survivalist compound.

However, the strange mutated people known as Zapheads seem to be changing from bloodthirsty killers into a force far more menacing. A secret military installation may hold the key to rebuilding civilization, but Franklin doesn't trust their intentions.

And the Zapheads are adapting to the new world faster than the human survivors, who must fight for their place in a future that may have no room for them.

Never a dull moment in this series of books. I like they way the characters battle within themselves about all thing concerning right and wrong. I like the whole scenario of the end of civilization / human life as we know it / and the hope of something better ahead. I also like the way some of the characters still hold faith in God without coming across as uneducated or self righteous. Scott Nicholson has taken an unbelievable situation and presented it in a very believable manner ( much like many Stephen King's novels ). I can't wait to continue reading this series to the end.

Loved every moment of it. After the shock was ineteresting, but mostly only OK for me, with certain character plot lines becoming a little uninteresting. It was definitely still worth reading, but it doesn't hold a candle to this book. This book however was much more riveting. With every plotline holding my attention intensely the entire time.

The story was ok. A lot of the choices the characters made were stupid. Not as enjoyable as the first 2. Book description said 296 pages. I got 107, false advertising.
