Hedge Witches Lonely Hearts Club: Book Three

A month ago, Jordan Bryne and his coven of hedge witches cast a spell that went hideously wrong and captured two of their number in a pocket of space and time. The magic is beyond their capabilities to unravel so, in desperation, they send up a beacon for supernatural aid.

They don’t mean to yank someone to their doorstep from hundreds of miles away.

Once Macklin Quintero gets past his irritation, he accepts the challenge. The tiny coven in the Sierra foothills is a group of the sweetest people he’s ever met, and he’s worried—the forces they’ve awakened won’t go back in their bottle without a fight.

But he also wants to get closer to Jordan. Mack’s been playing the field for years, but he’s never before encountered somebody so intense and dedicated.

Jordan might quietly yearn for love, but right now he’s got other priorities. The magic in the cul-de-sac doesn't care about Jordan’s priorities, though. Apparently the only way for the hedge witches to fix what they broke is to confront their hearts’ desires head-on.

One Of My Top Ten For 2021 I was fortunate enough to get an ARC to read, but I'm going to be buying this as a NookBook anyway - I want the series to be together in my reading app, and I loved it enough to want to read it again and again. When we left the Hedge Witches, they had made wishes which were supposed to be true wishes, made from the heart. But when it came time to voice those wishes, not a single person in the group was actually honest and that dishonesty came back to haunt them with a vengeance. As we pick up the story again, a call for help sent out into the wider world results in a wizard on a motorcycle being teleported into the cul-de-sac. Then things start to get interesting. I'm purposely being vague here. I'm sure other reviews will be more specific, but I want you to read this so much, that I really don't want to give away much (indeed, I don't want to give away ANY) of the plot. Just be reassured. You won't regret diving back into the lives of this small group of people who care so deeply for each other that their love propels them from being mere Hedge Witches, into magic users of the highest caliber. Get This Book! You won't regret it. And if you haven't read the series up to this point, start at the beginning and enjoy the journey. Your only regret will be when you turn the final page of this volume and realize it's over ... for now. But I'm quite sure there will be at least one more volume, and I'm already looking forward to that one.

Jordan Bryne’s life has been weird for a while, particularly since he and the rest of his coven raised a cone of power to get their hearts’ desires, and it went wrong. There’ve been squirrel brigades and upside down birds. But the thing that most has Jordan upset is that two of their coven were sucked into a weird temporal spatial realm apart from Jordan’s world. While attempting to put things right again, the coven of hedge witches accidentally pull Macklin Quintero through a portal and into their midst. Mack was raised in a family of witches with a famous pedigree, but Mack had left home at seventeen when he could no longer tolerate his family and their ways. Now that his father has caught his scent, he wants Mack to return tot he fold, while all Mack wants is to be a part of Jordan’s world/coven. Can the love of a bunch of ill trained but extremely strong hedges manage to drag their friends back and set the balance of nature aright? Can Jordan and Mack’s love endure portals and pelting plants? Another lonely hedge hearts book from Amy Lane is very welcome and lives up to and beyond expectation. It’s a lovely story full of love and humor, and mercifully little angst. I love this book, and would highly recommend it to readers of this genre. It’s a perfect book for reading by the fire on cold winter’s nights, and it’ll keep you warm if the fire should die. It’s a five star book to put at the very top of your TBR pile. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.

Amy Lane has done it again. If you love M/M and Magic here is the series for you. I love the characters we have met through the series and in this novel we learn more about Jordan and how he gets his man. I'm not sure what goes on in Amy's brain but if crazy squirrels, weird plants, magic portals, dramatic Dads and a group of good friends appeals to you this may well be the series for you. I found this to be a fun and easy read that let me forget all my troubles for some time. Always happy to come back to this magical land.

About the author

Award winning author Amy Lane lives in a crumbling crapmansion with a couple of teenagers, a passel of furbabies, and a bemused spouse. She has too damned much yarn, a penchant for action-adventure movies, and a need to know that somewhere in all the pain is a story of Wuv, Twu Wuv, which she continues to believe in to this day! She writes contemporary romance, paranormal romance, urban fantasy, and romantic suspense, teaches the occasional writing class, and likes to pretend her very simple life is as exciting as the lives of the people who live in her head. She’ll also tell you that sacrifices, large and small, are worth the urge to write.
