Absolutely moving touching at times heartbreaking. A rollercoaster ride Lea is so brave after all she has been thru. Justice isn't always black and white. Could not put the book down. Fell in love with ash , Neil the German dog, Lea so brave and the other wounded soldiers. Because of the contents of the book not recommended for anyone who has suffered from abuse. Otherwise will definitely recommend. You will want to cry , scream and accasionally laugh. Thank you for not killing off Lea. Ash and Lea can heal and hopefully have a happy life. I read the book same story but titled necessary justice.

AWOL from the military hospital, Ash Hunter knows what is to run so he realizes the beautiful stranger in his grandmother’s isolated cottage is just as tormented as he is in this gripping and exhilarating romantic suspense. Lia Stewart barely escaped with her life and now she’s only just surviving and the reader can’t help but be captivated as Lia steps up to care for the wounded warrior on her doorstep despite her fears. The attraction between Lia and Ash smolders throughout the story as the relationship slowly overcomes all the obstacles that the emotional turbulence and tormented past throws in their way which grips the readers by the heart. The characters are strong and easily draw readers into their story as the steady to fast paced plot keeps readers on the edge of their seats with lots of suspense, turmoil, excitement and romance. The reader is caught in the characters’ web from the very beginning as the suspense and the turmoil of their relationship builds tension throughout the story and keeps readers wondering whether two such wounded souls can overcome the past with adrenaline pumping suspense building as the evil from Lia’s past invades the present with Ash providing quite a few unexpected twist and keeping everyone on their toes including Lia. The scenes are well written with great details that captures the imagination and make it easy for the reader to become immersed in the story and relate to the characters while the intriguing events hold them hostage throughout. It’s almost like the story is in two parts, because the first half is all about the Lia and Ash tiptoeing around each other and learning to trust and then bam the danger escalates and the story is about stopping an evil SOB but it obviously is the way the story is supposed to be because I was glued to the pages from the very beginning and couldn’t put it down so in my opinion Anna del Mar’s debut novel is a success and I can’t wait to read her next book.
