I'm not, nor have I ever been, a very heavy guy or an avid reader, but this caught my eye. Pretty lean for the most part because of years of playing basketball. Arnold lays out many ideas and follows them up with solutions. I've been doing phase 1 for a few weeks and now that it's committed to memory, I find myself easily pushing passed areas where I'd struggled on my own. The illustrations, target points and reasoning behind each exercise is clearly laid out.

I read his first book, Education of a bodybuilder back in 1979 and much of what he talked about then are industry standards today. He pioneered the 6 or more smaller meals per day to name one. For people just wanting to improve their bodies at whatever level you won't find a better author period.

Very good book, I've always wanted to study Arnold's stuff. I really liked him growing up and when I started lifting weights in my 20's it was a good read.

About the author

Arnold Schwarzenegger served as governor of California from 2003 to 2011. Before that, he had a long career, starring in such films as the Terminator series; Stay Hungry; Twins; Predator; and Junior. His first book, Arnold: The Education of a Bodybuilder, was a bestseller when published in 1977 and, along with his Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding, has never been out of print. He is the author of Be Useful: Seven Tools for Life and Arnold, a limited docuseries about his life, is currently streaming on Netflix.
