This is the novelization of the teen movie by the same title "Artisse". The story centers on a young girl who suffers a head trauma and a near death experience that takes her to Heaven for months. While in Heaven she encounters her deceased father and is instructed to return to earth with a message for her mother. She learns that the colors in Heaven are nothing like she experiences on earth and that she will have to make adjustments to her painting style.
