OMG what a great read! These two come from different places in life and in spite of the insecurities and trauma, they fit together PERFECTLY! Frankie is starting to rethink his happy-go-lucky man wh*ring ways and decides to go without until he can figure out who he wants to be and who he wants to be with. When he sees his sister's friend, Lucy, being harassed across the bar, he decides to rescue her. But Lucy is a woman who's heard these insults all her life and can handle herself. As they have dinner together, the conversation turns into a plan. He's being forced to take a vacation from work and she has a class reunion coming up. He offers to be her fake date and even though she can't believe it, she accepts. This is when you'll want to have your fan, your iced water and your tissues ready!!! This story is LOL funny, witty, STEAMY and emotional and I'm sooo glad I read it. Do yourself a favor and read this one.

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this wonderful, snarky, and funny book, Muffin Top by Avery Flynn, the book two in her Hartigan series. This book had me on an emotional journey, reminding me of my own experiences of not fitting in or being accepted while growing up. Lucy was the plus size child of an underwear model and sex therapist. She was glad to leave behind her small town and classmates who constantly teased her about her size. Now she was a well respected PR spin doctor for well known, celebrity types yet she still had to deal small minded men who thought she would be so much better if she only lost weight. Enter Frankie Hartigan, the hot fire fighter known for loving them and leaving them. We meet him as he apologizes for being late for their date and then dismisses one of those types of men; joining Lucy as she enjoys her hamburger and fries. Frankie is lost, unsure what to do after being forced to take three weeks of vacation. Therefore, he has no problem accompanying Lucy to her high school reunion, and not as a pity date. I loved the road trip Lucy and Frankie took to get to her hometown. Frankie was on a quest to figure out what was missing in his life and how to change things. He decided riding the bench in the game of sexytimes would help him figure this out; little did he realize what a struggle that would be while spending time with Lucy. Frankie loved how Lucy’s curves fit his hands perfectly and he encouraged, or is that abetted, Lucy’s competitive streak. Lucy and Frankie might not have been each others’ type on the surface, but they were actually perfect for each other. I also loved the scenes with Lucy’s dad trying to give Frankie the evil eye or trying to talk to him about his problems. This book was filled with sarcasm, laughs, snark, and even some sexy scenes that made me wish it never ended. Ms. Flynn wrote a wonderful and hysterical story that was moving and filled with sexual chemistry, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters that should definitely not be missed. I highly recommend this book to other readers and I am anxious for the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is a wonderfully amazing romance that I just fell in love with. Filled with deep emotions, drama, humor and sizzling heat, this book was a delight to read. Lucy and Frankie are both such compelling and complex characters, that also happen to be incredibly realistic. Lucy is smart, funny and successful. She is also a plus size woman with quite the sassy mouth on her. Now I know that that seems cliched and in some ways it is. However, I feel that when you are singled out and ridiculed about something all the time it pretty much can cause you to react in either retreat mode or defense mode and Lucy went with defense mode. Frankie is such a great guy but he also has his own baggage that effects how he acts and the relationships he has. What starts out as something basic and quickly morphs into so much more when the attraction and chemistry just explodes between them. I will say that there is one spot in the book where I think Lucy really let her mouth get the better of her and at Frankie's expense. This rubbed me the wrong way and I can't say that I was very satisfied with how the whole thing was rectified either. Regardless, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am eagerly awaiting book #3.
