오랜 시간 짝사랑했던 선생님인 용욱을 다시 만났다.
칠판 앞에 서서 그가 말할 때마다 넋을 놓고 보던 때가 떠올랐다. 그때 그는 내게 아이돌이나 마찬가지였다.
하얗고 매끄러운 피부에 짙은 눈썹이 도드라진 얼굴을 볼 때마다 심장이 격하다 싶을 정도로 빠르게 뛰었다.
특히 쌍꺼풀이 없이 아래로 조금 처진 눈매를 볼 때면 귀여운 강아지가 내 앞에 있는 것만 같아 쓰다듬고 싶었다.
“나, 어때요?”
슬쩍 그가 허벅지를 만지작거려서 흠칫 놀랐다.
어쩐지 나를 알아보지 못하는 게 아닌가 싶었다. 될 대로 되라는 심정으로 고개를 들자 그가 허벅지 안쪽으로 손을 더 깊이 밀어 넣었다.
단순한 손길에도 숙련된 장인의 섬세함이 느껴진다고나 할까.
