About this ebook

Biogas technology has been disseminated in India through the NPBD (National Project on Biogas Development) and over 2.5 million biogas plants have been installed. AFPRO (Action for Food Production), an NGO has played a leading role in the field-level implementation of NPBD in partnership with CHF (Canadian Hunger Foundation). The achievements under the AFPRO-CHF collaboration can be a model for replication in the other areas and feedback would assist in both planning and policy issues related to the rural energy programmes. This book documents and analyses the experiences of various NGOs involved in popularizing biogas and other similar development programmes on rural and renewable energy.
