'Bite of the Oath' is Laura Greenwood's third book in her "Black Fan" series. This is where we get Bindi and Julian's story and if you've read the blurb, then you know that Julian has asked Bindi to be his pretend fiancée. What it doesn't give you is their friendship, relationship, love for each other. She's also brought in the concern for the poor and disadvantaged, so we have the social outlook as well. It was a fun, thought-provoking read

Bindi and Julian . . . Bindi’s brother's best friend, vampire Julian, asks her for a favor. He would like her to pretend to be his fiancée, and without hesitation, Bindi says yes. For her, this is not even pretend. It’s easy for her to fall for him. But how long can the pretense last? With the way she feels, will she lose her heart completely? Grab your copy and experience one of this author’s terrific books. Will Bindi and Julian decide to take their relationship further than the “fake” one it’s supposed to be? You will almost always find something new or different in the story line, such as letting the reader see vampires who care about others for the combined good of both vampires and humans. What a nice change!

This is my first read of this series and I’m intrigued in this paranormal world. I normally read fake marriage in a contemporary romance but this storyline gives a dark edge to it that makes for an enjoyable read. The storyline was full of action with a slow build up on the characters chemistry, enjoyable from start to finish. I can’t wait to read more of this series!
