Having recently found out I have BPD this was a great resource to start my path to recovery. The shared stories gave me such a sense of relief to know I'm not the only one and there is a name for the way I feel and react to those emotions.

If you're struggling with BPD and need something that will help you to stop those constant ups and downs of the disorder, this book can help you! It contains detailed exercises in mindfulness aimed at reducing the symptoms and discomforts of Borderline, with simple acronyms that are easily accessible and simple to remember when confronted with those unpleasant thoughts and behaviors. I cannot stress enough how effective mindfulness is at helping to learn how to bring more peace and even happiness into your life, while improving you and your relationships. A must have for anyone suffering from Borderline Personality Disorder

About the author

Blaise Aguirre, MD, is an assistant professor of psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He is expert in child, adolescent, and adult psychotherapy, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and psychopharmacology. He is the medical director of 3East at Harvard-affiliated McLean Hospital. Aguirre has been a staff psychiatrist at McLean since 2000 and is widely recognized for his extensive work in the treatment of mood and personality disorders in adolescents. He is the author of Parenting Your Child with Autism; Biographies of Disease: Depression; Borderline Personality Disorder in Adolescents; and Helping Your Troubled Teen.

Gillian Galen, PsyD, is an instructor in psychology at Harvard Medical School. She is the assistant director of training and senior psychologist at 3East at the Harvard-affiliated McLean Hospital—a unique, residential DBT program for young women exhibiting self-endangering behaviors and borderline personality traits. She specializes in adolescent psychotherapy, including DBT. She has a particular interest in using mindfulness and yoga in the treatment of BPD and other psychiatric illnesses. Galen has been a registered yoga instructor since 2008.
