Both continuous- and discrete-time control systems are treated, although the emphasis is on continuous-time systems. A chapter each is devoted to in-depth analysis of non-linear control systems, control system components, and optimal control theory. The book also introduces students to the modern concepts of neural fuzzy and adaptive learning systems.

M. N. BANDYOPADHYAY, Ph.D., is Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra. Earlier, he taught at Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and NIT Hamirpur. Dr. Bandyopadhyay has 35 years of teaching and industrial experience to his credit. His areas of interest include digital signal processing and control engineering.
