This is the last book in the Dragons of Wayward Crescent series that prequels for the Last Dragon Chronicles, and it once again seems to have the charm and marks of a Chris D'Lacy dragons novel! This time, we're introduced to Grabber and the small time trinket their Ron, both of which are a very different take from the usual stories inside the Dragons series- Ron especially diverges wildly from the usual characters as a simple minded, well intentioned thief whose trying to get something he lost long ago. I think that out of all the books in this Wayward Crescent series this might be the least in line with its overall storytelling style, but it also serves as a good point of entry for the more maturing themes of it's sequel series. Above all it's charming, silly, and satisfying to finish, cover to cover.
