I stopped reading it after Eileen gave up something super important. i can't read books about these kind of characters! She seems intelligent, but is so WEAK. Enabling all around... I just can't!

This is my first time reading this authors work and I think I'll read from her again. Eli is a woman who in spite of having to carry the emotional baggage of her family, has managed to make a life for herself. She tries to please everyone and is often an afterthought to her parents and siblings all her life. The way Eli was treated and the fact that she lived with it so long, made me want to yell at someone, especially her parents! Her mom and dad are terrible, neglectful enablers. They push everything on Eli and blame her if anything goes wrong. Jason starts out as an uncaring jilted man but Eli soon changes his outlook not only on life but himself. They're thrown together when they have to plan a quickie wedding for his cousin and her sister. (oh, don't even get me started on her sister) They soon find out that they have a lot in common and soon are spending more and more time together. They both find out that it sometimes takes others to make us realize that you have to forget the past and stand up for for yourself. And I was so glad when they did! Lots of drama with some laughs and steam.

5 Star Review of Then He Happened by Claudia Y Burgoa AUDIO REVIEW: Then He Happened was well written and had me engaged from the first chapter. I really loved Jason and Eileen, both separately and together, they really do make a great couple. Jason Clarke and Emma Wilder did a great job with their narration. Their voices are so easy to listen to that I found myself listening to this one in one go. Eileen’s family are not nice, in fact if I were her I would disown them and write them off. The banter and humour between Eileen and Jason was at times hilarious and I found myself smiling often, it just made me happy and as their friendship developed all I could do was cheer them on. Despite their families, who really are clueless, Jason and Eileen come together to arrange a successful wedding. The support that they show for one another truly was heart warming. There were times throughout the story that I really wanted to smack some sense into Eileen’s sister, her parents and Jason’s cousin. I really felt like cheering when Eileen finally stood up for herself against her selfish family. Through it all Jason offered his friendship, support and eventually love and he just ticked the boxes for me. Jason Clarke did a wonderful job with his voicing of this character, he really brought Jason to life for me. This book is a little gem, so why not one click?
