About this ebook

The town bad boy with hidden pain…

Champion bull-rider and all-around fun guy Chase Summers is everybody’s friend, but his affable personality hides a lifetime of pain. Having been abandoned as a young child at the steps of a church, he learned young that he was unwanted. The only thing that saved him from isolation was his foster dad and life on Redemption Ranch. Now he spends his time on the rodeo circuit, sending home his winnings to help the ranch succeed, and his nights with buckle bunnies, making sure no one gets close enough to touch the pain deep inside.

The town good girl who saw the good in everyone…

When accountant and small business advisor Hailey Spencer is hired by Redemption Ranch to implement their dude ranch ideas, she and Chase are thrown together. It's not long before he is introduced to the son that she had with his best friend. The best friend who would've followed Chase anywhere...even the bull riding circuit with its deadly potential. With Hailey hanging on to resentment and Chase racked with guilt, the two try to fight their age-old attraction – in vain. Chase knows Hailey deserves more than a broken-down cowboy for her son and her heart.

Can Chase resist the call of the rodeo and man up for a woman he's loved for years or will he leave for the allure of the road?

Though this is book 2 of the series, rest assure, that if like me you haven’t read book 1, it’s a stand alone. Redemption Ranch was the place where three foster boys were given a new life and purpose by their foster dad. Now as adults, they, in addition to the daughter of the man who raised them, are owners of Redemption Ranch. Chase Summers is one of the “boys”. He is a champion bull-rider who comes home to recover after an almost fatal accident, and encounters Hailey Spencer. The gal that he had feelings for, but she married his best friend. Now a widow with a boy, she too is back home. It’s a story about how our childhood affects us as adults. It’s also a story about family, hope, finding a purpose in life , taking chances and allowing oneself to love and be loved. A touching story that at times is heartbreaking as well as heartwarming. One worth your time. I was entrusted a copy of this book by Tule Publishing. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

This is another new author for me, and she gave me just what I needed right now, a really sweet, heartwarming tale with likeable, engaging characters. Both the main characters, Hailey and Chase, have had troubled pasts which have left them psychologically scarred, making any possible romance between them fraught with obstacles. I was really rooting for them to each overcome their baggage so they could have their happy ever after. This is the second part of the Redemption Ranch series, but can be read and enjoyed as a standalone, as I have - but I will be picking up the first book to read West and Tara's story, and am looking forward to book #3 too. All of the characters are very well drawn, including all the supporting characters, but particularly Chase's family, who are great. Oh, the horses are pretty adorable too, and Hailey's son, AJ. The author writes well, and this was a really easy read. The story was paced just right, and as well as great character development, she is also very good at painting a word picture of the setting so you can see it vividly in your mind's eye. The story itself has depth and this is quite an emotional read, but a really enjoyable one.

Hailey and Chase’s love story in Coming Home to the Cowboy by Megan Ryder, book two in her Redemption Ranch series, reminds us that families can be created by those not related by blood. Chase was a foster child with a troubled life, until he found a family while living on Redemption Ranch with his foster dad. Now he spends time on the rodeo circuit, sending home his winnings to help the ranch succeed. Chase is still a loner and keeps people, especially women, from getting too close. Hailey is an accountant and hired by Redemption Ranch to prepare and ready the ranch for all the changes being made. Hailey married Chase’s best friend but is now a widow with a young son. These two try to fight their attraction, but it is in vain as they sizzle with off the chart electricity. Hailey, along with his foster brothers, fear that if Chase returns to the rodeo circuit he could badly injure himself if not end up dead. Chase struggles to resist returning to the rodeo circuit as the prize is within his grasp. He also recognizes that Hailey deserves a better man but he’s not sure he can give her up. Chase will have to choose between the rodeo and the woman he loves. Ms. Ryder wrote a wonderful and sexy story that is definitely not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with sexual chemistry, amusing banter, and endearing characters giving Hailey and Chase a chance to have a forever love and be a family. I highly recommend Coming Home to the Cowboy to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
