With the reappearance of Cole Vincent, Evie struggles with long buried emotions when Cole promises he will never run again. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Evie and Cole, as Cole and the team at Wilde Ways battle an unknown enemy but a enemy that is coming from several different angles. Evie Lake has never stopped loving Cole Vincent but struggles in the face of betrayal and loss. Having disappeared immediately upon their return, Cole remained in the background while Evie went on with her life. Cole Vincent never forgot about the woman that stole his heart but our hero was forced to walk way by threats of another nature. The $ex scenes are passionate erotic and seductive without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including Evie’s best friend,Leo and her brother Harrison; Broadway director Robert Demakis; producer Stephen Lowe, and artist/Harrison’s ex girlfriend Gia Eastman. We are re-introduced to several agents at Wilde Ways Security : James ‘Ghost’ Smith, Chase Durant, and Eric Wilde. COUNTING ON COLE is a fast paced, energetic and engaging story line. The characters are dynamic and spirited; the romance is tender, provocative and captivating. COUNTING ON COLE is another welcome addition to Cynthia Eden’s WILDE WAYS romantic, suspense series.

4.25⭐ Counting on Cole is book 8 in the Wilde Ways Series but it can easily be read as a standalone. And it tells the story of Cole and Evie who originally met two years ago when Cole worked as a mercenary and was hired to rescue Evie, who was kidnapped in L.A, and after spending a week together where things got hot and heavy, Cole returns Evie to New York, and her step-brother Harrison and disappears from her life. But now he's back as the danger to Evie has resurfaced and Cole has the perfect second chance to not only keep her safe, but prove he loves her and he's never letting go again. And it was a great story. That was fast-paced, and absorbing as there were plenty of red herrings, surprises, familiar faces, and off the charts chemistry. So, if you're looking for a second chance romance, with an alpha male hero and a heroine whose definitely no pushover then you should definitely check this book out!

Wow! Fans of second chance romances, strong alpha heroes, a little drama, some suspense, good guys out to beat the bad guys.....well Counting on Cole is the book for you. The heroine is strong but does know she has weaknesses and can't do everything or always save herself. The hero is an alpha all the way. If you don't like over the top strong alpha heroes we'll then Cole isn't for you. Personally I loved Cole. The story is very believable and easy to see being true. The romance is strong realistic and sexy. This story is very sexy so its not for the readers who are looking a sweet romance. It's not one where you can skip the hotter parts.... They actually play a part in the overall story. This is part of a series but can be read alone, you won't be lost. It has connected characters but a storyline that is connected. There is a HEA so you know it will end happily. I love Cynthia Eden's writing and will warn you that once you find a novel by her you'll want to read them all. I highly recommend this story.
