Adrianne must ultimately rely on reserves of an inner strength to claw her way out of her desperate circumstances. This gripping exploration of a young woman's search for love and self in the big city is titillating and psychologically haunting in equal measure.

Mar ía Espinosa is the author of several books, including the novels Dying Unfinished, Incognito, and Longing, and two books of poetry, Love Feelings and Night Music. She is the recipient of the American Book Award and the PEN Josephine Miles Award for Literary Excellence. She lives in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
