About this ebook

Some truths can wake the dead...

Amateur psychic Selena is settling into her new life at the paranormal Kindred Spirits Inn — until a zombie shuffles through the front door to report a murder on the property. Specifically, his own. The only problem? He can't remember his name or anything about the night he died.

Afraid that news of the attack might bury her establishment's reputation, Selena uses her psychic powers to wear the dead man's shoes — and quickly realizes there are many more secrets lying six feet under.

But not everyone is eager to take a walk down memory lane. Who or whatever killed the zombie is still haunting the inn, determined to keep the truth — and their victim — in the ground where they belong.

Will Selena's psychic shoveling scare up the truth? Or is she digging her own grave?

Dead Man Walking is the second book in the Visions and Victims series of paranormal cozy mysteries. If zesty zombies, undead unrest, and paranormal perps get your wand waving, then you’re sure to fall under the spell of this new spinoff series that expands Lily Webb's magical universe.

Amateur psychic Selena Smith is settling into her new life in the magical mountains of Starfall Valley helping to run the paranormal Kindred Spirits Inn. A banner saying “Welcome Back, Class of 2000” hangs behind the front desk of the B&B. The entire foyer looked like the setting for a high school prom! Aunt Blair called her over and it was obvious Selena had not checked her work phone to know what was going on. The school, which would normally host the reunion, had a roof collapse with the heavy snow. So the B&B is co-hosting it with the Starcrest Ski Resort. Thorn White, a public relations rep for the Starcrest Institute and a well-known critic, was arriving soon and Blair wanted the reception room decorated. She also needed 30 rooms ready for guests – they normally only had 5 at the most, so this was a big deal! Not that they couldn’t take on many more since the B&B magically expanded as needed. Jadis arrived to help and they all started on decorating the reception room. Jadis and Selena hadn’t even known they had a reception room! The room was huge and dusty and needed a thorough cleaning. Blair handed each of them a wand and Selena was doubtful she could successfully wield it. But each of them learned quickly and in no time were cleaning out cobwebs and dust bunnies. Selena’s last thought was that they had to pull out all the stops to impress everyone and “knock ‘em dead” – perhaps not a good choice of thought right now. When a zombie shuffles through the front door to report his murder, with no memory of his name or details about the night he died, Selena realizes she has to take action before this tarnishes the B&B’s reputation. She uses her psychic powers to wear the dead man's shoes — and becomes aware there are many more secrets lying six feet under. With whoever or whatever killed the zombie still there at the inn, will Selena's psychic investigating dig up the truth? Or is she making herself a target instead? As always, the mystery will bring the reader right into the story with its twists and turns keeping the reader guessing. We meet some new characters and watch as Selena and Jadis learn how to use a few witchy powers. Grab your copy and enjoy this well-written cozy mystery!

Frosty the Zombie Selena is living the life at the Kindred Spirit Inn with her aunties and friends. Selena is coming into her own with these books which makes her fun to read about. She is impulsive yet caring about the people she comes into contact with at the Inn. The characters at the inn are so different than the run of the mill humans. You have imps, vampire, witches and a shade. A family the was made and not born. The hijinks that these guys get into are just unbelievable as someone ends up dead or other. The inn is hosting a school reunion and that is when the trouble starts. The past will rear its ugly head and hard feelings have not been put aside. Pick up and read about Miranda, Declan, Venus, Thorn, Edna, Fallon and a few others as they try to navigate the weekend gathering. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Delightful Next Installment of Series I so enjoy this author's cozy mystery series. This one is relatively new, but already, it is so much fun. The protagonist is still somewhat new to her psychic powers, which include being able to look into the past. She used it to help solve a murder in the first book. One thing I like about this series is that it has a variety of paranormal characters, not just witches and wizards (which so many paranormal cozies focus on). Here, you'll find brownies, zombies, vampires, and more, even including a shade. I like how the author adds a touch of whimsy beyond the typical found in paranormal cozies. For instance, the inn at the center of the story can magically expand depending on how many guests need a room, reminding me of the magical tents in Harry Potter. The author put a brief blurb about what happened in the series’ first book at the start of this one, but that book is so enjoyable that I recommend you start there before you move on to this one. Highly recommend the author, series, and book! I received a free copy of this book, but that did not affect my review.
