An internship with Edenville's top lawyer, Michael Cooper, might not be glamorous, but staying in the city for the summer wasn't an option. Like always, she'll turn lemons into lemonade. Jay has a one-track mind. He's driven to succeed, not out of pride, but desperation. Justice is all he has in mind when he fights his way through law school. Falling for hot-headed Vera is a distraction he can't afford.
When the two collide, seemingly on similar paths, they realize they have nothing in common but their chosen professional goals. When a cut and dry conviction becomes their summer project, Jay and Vera need each other if they plan to win. Even more if they want to stay alive.
