Poor Cissy. Taking over the formerly disgraced Necro Council was hard enough for her but now one of the newly appointed members has proved to be sympathetic to Alvin and his way of thinking and taken another Council member hostage. There are doubts that the hostage actually is a hostage and not a co-conspirator but Cissy insists that she be given the benefit of the doubt until proof is obtained one way or another and that their attention should be focused on Brendan for the time being as he is the one they know for sure is guilty. On top of that she is still trying to get over the guilt of making her mate wait to cement their relationship and no matter how many times he tells her that he is okay with it she still feels like she is letting him down somehow. As the search for Brendan intensifies the stakes grow and soon someone very close to Cissy is in grave danger. It is another scintillating book in the series and I am just loving how Cissy is coming along in leaps and bounds with her confidence, mental health and healing. Really enjoyable series so far. This book was easy to read and really easy to pick up the story even if you haven't read the previous books in the series. I really liked reading about the characters and their connection. It was adventurous and had a bit of mystery to it. I don't usually read necoromancer books but if have really enjoyed these fun, adventurous stories from Laura Greenwood. Can't wait to read the next story that comes out.
