'Curse the Dead' is Laura Greenwood's second book in her "The Necromancer Council" series and is filled with as much action as book one, 'Wake the Dead'. I don't want to give a lot away because these books do move rather quickly but just know Cissy is still trying to mentally recover from being kidnapped and her injuries. It wouldn't be so quite so hard coping with Darius at her side but now there are human women who are receiving the same type of injuries which brings her fear to the surface needing to be dealt with. In the meantime, she's doesn't want to be in a position of power where the council is concerned, but she knows it needs to be rebuilt. Nothing is easy as she and a new member of the council cannot seem to see eye to eye. Through it, all Darius, her fated mate, is trying to help where he can even as Cissy continually tries to push him aside. This is a little darker than what Laura Greenwood usually writes so for those that are prone, there could be a few triggers. That being said, I can't wait for 'Defy the Dead' to find out what happens next.

Curse the Dead is Book two in the Necromancer Council series. Cissy is healing from her ordeal at the hands of her cousin Alvin; so is his sister Tabitha. They thought he was dead, but recent events point to the possibility that he is not. Now leading the Necromancer Council, Cissy has to find the strength to stand against whoever is torturing women, using the same MO as her cousin. If it is not him, and she hopes it is not, then it is someone who is just as sick as him. She does have the support of her mate, Darius, and another new member of the Council, Rory. Devina is new, and Cissy has good feelings about her. She is not so sure about Brendon. With some romance, suspense, a mystery to solve, a twist, a betrayal of sorts, and paranormal action, Curse the Dead leads us right into book three. I hope that we see Cissy come to a place of healing so that she can settle with her mate. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I really enjoyed this second book in Laura Greenwood's 'Necromancer Council' series. Cissy is trying to recover from what happen with Alvin and is also trying to get the Necromancer Council set up. Women start showing up injured and Cissy wonders if Alvin is back. This book had a lot of action and adventure like the first one, along with mystery and anticipation. There was a slight cliff hanger at the end so I'll be anxiously awaiting the release of the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
