About this ebook

It was a day that started out so differently for so many. Shame for some. Anticipation for others. Conflict for still others. They all arrived at the small court house for different reasons, but in the end, all they wanted to do was make it out alive. The characters must balance their fears against their humanity in order to survive. Experience the chaos as escaped convict Brian Baird returns to Apple Lake to settle a score.

About the author

D. Eric Horner has written three other novels—Guilt, Slow Burn, and I Promise—A Grandson’s Destiny. He began his writing career in 2006 when he became disabled due to multiple sclerosis. He finds the mental strength to battle this disease through the creation of the characters and plots in his novels. With the use of talk-to-text software, he has been able to turn his ideas into finished works. He lives with his dear wife, Kathy, and cat, Goldie. Goldie, his faithful “critic” listens nearby as he speaks to create his stories. The family lives outside the hustle of the capital city of Ohio near the quaint village of Alexandria.
