This volume contains the scientific papers presented at the Twelfth International Conference „Challenges of Business Law in the Third Millennium” that was held on 25 November 2022 in online format on Zoom. The conference is organized each year by the Society of Juridical and Administrative Sciences. The scientific studies included in this volume are grouped into three chapters: Business Interactions Specific to Public Law; Private Law and Business Law, an Essential Duo; Modern Developers of Business Law: International Law and European Union Law. The present volume is addressed to practitioners, researchers, students and PhD candidates in juridical sciences, who are interested in recent developments and prospects for development in the field of business law at international and national level.

About the author

Tomáš PERÁČEK

Activity

Graduate of the Faculty of Law of the Comenius University in Bratislava. Since graduating from this faculty in 2006, he has worked as a trainee lawyer. In 2009, he successfully passed the bar exam of the Slovak Bar Association with the evaluation "passed excellent", on the basis of which, since 1 January 2010, he practiced his own law practice. He currently works at the Department of Information Systems, Faculty of Management, Comenius University Bratislava as a professor. He is a member of the Academic Senate and the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Management of the Comenius University Bratislava. At present, in the position of the co-investigator, he actively participates in solving current scientific issues within the framework of APVV grants [19-0502] "Effective Land Adjustment"; APVV [18-0534] "Legislation on Spent Nuclear Fuel Management", VEGA [1/0757/20] "Means of direct democracy in the conditions of the smart cities and municipalities"; VEGA [1/0320/21] "The role of the universities in building the knowledge economy".

Publications

As part of his scientific research activities, he focuses mainly on the legislative side of the issues of securities, business, trading companies and employment. He is the author and co-author of more than 160 scientific articles and works, of which eighty are registered in the world's scientific databases such as Web of Science and Scopus, including twenty-one articles in foreign database journals. Dozens of foreign responses in WoS and Scopus, as well as invited reviews of articles published in journals registered in these scientific databases, show not only domestic but especially international recognition of his research activities. Currently, he is a guest editor of special issues of the journals Administrative Sciences and Sustainability registered in the Web of Science and Scopus databases. Building one's own science school in the field of "economics and management" is reflected in the successfully defended dissertations of three doctoral students. He currently coaches six doctoral students in this field.

Fátima Castro Moreira, PhD, is Assistant Professor at the Law Department of the Portucalense University, lecturing Law of the Sea, International Law and EU Law; Lawyer in the Portuguese Bar Association; member in the Editorial Board of the Portuguese Yearbook of the Law of the Sea (Brill Open Acess) and Revista Jurídica Portucalense (Thomson Reuters and Scopus); Member of ILA – International Law Association, IPDM-Instituto Português de Direito do Mar, SPDI – Sociedade Portuguesa de Direito Internacional e Conferência Lusófona de Direito do Mar. Former Secretary General of the IJP-Portucalense Institute for Legal Reasearch (2017-2020), she is now the Erasmus Law Department Coordinator at Portucalense University.
